When Antonello decided to restore his family home, originally built in 1921 and owned by his grandfather, he created something lasting for his family and something very special for travelers to Cagliari, the capital city of Sardegna. Named after the wild peony, emblematic flower of the island, La Peonia B&B is situated in a residential area of this port city, reachable in fifteen minutes by car or by bus from the bustling city center. The M bus from the center of town delivers you conveniently to its front door.
On a street of modest homes and small family businesses, this house is a gem that simply shines. Its refined stuccoed façade is a fitting introduction to the graceful interior that greets you. Each of the four bedrooms is furnished in tasteful antiques while outfitted with all modern amenities – great showers and bath linens, comfortable bedding, a small, stocked refrigerator, television and WiFi connectivity. Access to a pleasant garden provides a quiet place to enjoy a book or a glass of wine in the congenial company of travel companions. A varied, continental breakfast is served in a small dining area in the front parlor. Warm cappuccini and fresh juice accompany a plentiful assortment of yogurts, croissants, cookies and jams. When the weather is inviting, breakfast is served in the garden.
All of this would make any B&B a desirable place to stay, but the family hospitality that Antonello and Vana offer their guests make it extraordinary. Vana with her ready smile and Antonello with his vast travel experience, is keen to assist his guests in thoughtful and practical ways, adding to their ease in visiting his native city and their overall enjoyment of Sardegna as a whole.
